Before ever stepping into the operating room, Dr. Guyton learned the foundational tenets of being calm under pressure as a medic in the United States Army. That early discipline paved the way for an extensive academic and surgical journey, graduating from the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University after completing undergraduate studies at the University of North Carolina. Along the way, those experiences even included a detour into zero-gravity research for NASA. From there he went on to complete a rigorous General Surgery residency before completing a dedicated fellowship in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery here at the University of Cincinnati.

Outside the Operating Room

When Dr. Guyton isn’t consulting with patients across the greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky area, you’ll likely find him spending time with his wife, an OB/GYN physician, and their two sons, Luke and Liam. An avid outdoorsman and craftsman, he is a master scuba diver who enjoys hitting the golf course and spending time in the workshop practicing woodworking, a craft that shares much of the same patience, precision, and attention to detail required in surgery.
