Mommy Makeover

Pregnancy and breastfeeding can bring lasting changes to the breasts, abdomen, and overall body contour. A Mommy Makeover is a personalized combination of cosmetic procedures designed to address these changes and restore proportions that may have changed after having children.
There is no single Mommy Makeover. Your treatment may include breast augmentation, breast lift, breast reduction, abdominoplasty, liposuction, or other procedures depending on your anatomy and goals.
Our goal is not simply to reverse the changes of pregnancy, but to create a balanced, natural-looking result that fits your body and your goals.
You may be a good candidate for a Mommy Makeover if you:
Because a Mommy Makeover may involve multiple procedures, your surgeon will consider not only what can improve your result but also what can be performed safely during a single operation.
The procedures included in a Mommy Makeover vary from patient to patient. Your surgeon will develop a treatment plan based on your anatomy, goals, and overall safety. Mommy makeover surgery is performed under general anesthesia. Many patients are able to return home the same day. For longer or more complex procedures, we may recommend that you remain in the hospital overnight after the procedure for observation.
Breast implants can restore breast volume that may have been lost following pregnancy and breastfeeding or provide additional volume when desired. Implant size, shape, and profile are selected based on your anatomy and goals.
A breast lift reshapes and elevates breasts that have become stretched or descended following pregnancy, breastfeeding, or weight changes. A lift can be performed with or without implants depending on the amount of breast tissue and desired volume.
Some women experience an increase in breast size during pregnancy that persists afterward. Breast reduction can remove excess breast tissue and skin while reshaping and lifting the breasts.
A tummy tuck removes excess abdominal skin and can tighten the abdominal wall when there is separation or laxity. It can restore a flatter, firmer abdominal contour following pregnancy or significant weight loss.
Liposuction can be used to refine areas of localized fat around the abdomen, waist, hips, or other areas. It is often combined with a tummy tuck when appropriate.
Not every patient needs every procedure, and combining procedures is not always appropriate. In some cases, staging procedures over time provides a safer or more predictable result.
Recovery depends on the procedures performed and how many areas are treated.
You can expect:
Many patients need approximately 2 weeks away from work, although recovery can be longer when multiple procedures are performed or when the work is physically demanding.
Walking is encouraged soon after surgery, while strenuous exercise and heavy lifting are restricted during the initial healing period. Your surgeon will provide specific instructions based on your procedures and recovery.
