Laser and Light Skin Rejuvenation

Laser and light-based skin rejuvenation treatments use targeted light energy to improve the color, tone, and overall appearance of the skin. Depending on your skin type and the concern being treated, different technologies can target unwanted pigment, redness, and other signs of sun damage and aging.
Our practice offers both IPL and laser treatments, allowing us to customize treatment to your skin and goals.
These treatments can be particularly helpful for:
The appropriate treatment depends on the type of pigmentation or aging changes present, your skin tone, and your individual goals.
Laser and IPL treatments deliver controlled light energy into the skin. Specific wavelengths of light are absorbed by targets such as pigment and blood vessels.
The absorbed energy is converted into heat, which helps break down unwanted pigment or reduce the appearance of certain superficial blood vessels. Your body then gradually clears the treated areas, resulting in a more even complexion.
Because different technologies and wavelengths target different structures within the skin, treatment can be selected and customized based on your specific concerns.
Botox may be a good option if you are beginning to notice expression lines that you would like to soften or if you want to maintain a smoother, more refreshed appearance without surgery.
You may want to consider a neuromodulator if:
There is no single “right” age to begin treatment. Some patients begin when lines are becoming noticeable, while others choose treatment earlier to minimize the development of deeper expression lines.
Botox is not the right treatment for every wrinkle. Lines caused primarily by volume loss, loose skin, or changes in skin quality may respond better to dermal fillers, skincare, resurfacing treatments, or surgery. We can help determine which approach is most appropriate for you.
We will first evaluate your facial expressions, muscle activity, and areas of concern. Together, you will discuss the degree of movement you would like to maintain and the result you want to achieve.
Treatment involves a series of small injections into carefully selected muscles using a very fine needle. Most treatments take approximately 10–20 minutes, depending on the number of areas being treated.
Anesthesia is generally not necessary, although ice or a topical anesthetic can be used if desired. Most patients describe the injections as brief pinches or small stings.
Because treatment is based on your individual anatomy and muscle strength, the amount of neuromodularor (number of units) needed varies from person to person. The goal is to use an appropriate amount to achieve the desired effect while maintaining natural facial movement.
One of the advantages of neuromodulator treatment is that there is essentially no required downtime. Most patients return to their normal activities immediately.
You may notice:
These effects generally resolve quickly.
The effect of treatment develops gradually rather than immediately. You may begin to notice changes within a few days, with the full effect becoming apparent over approximately one to two weeks.
We will give you specific aftercare instructions. In particular, you should avoid rubbing or massaging the treated areas immediately after treatment.
